Victory in Europe Day

As we commemorate 70 years since the announcement of Victory in Europe here's a reminder of how peace was announced on the BBC on 8 May 1945 with the voice of Winston Churchill introduced by senior announcer John Snagge. The recording was replayed as part of Radio 2's VE Day programmes in 1995, so in this Audioboom you'll also hear a little of Sarah Kennedy as she winds up her two-hour special.
