Georgia's story

This week on Drivetime with Sarah Gorrell we’ve been hearing Georgia’s story, the little girl who saved six lives after her death Georgia was just three and a half, collapsed on the beach on Christmas Day 2013, while on a family holiday. Her parents had to say goodbye to her in the intensive care unit at King's College Hospital..Her mother Ilse says the only thing that made turning off the life support machine was the knowledge that Georgia's organs would be used to help others. Georgia has saved four children and two young men in their early twenties. Georgia's mother told Sarah Gorrell the decision to donate was the most heartbreaking decision she's ever had to make but it's a decision which has helped her cope with the overwhelming grief on the loss of her daughter..
