After a pair charges against him were formally dropped Friday morning, Martese Johnson, the University of Virginia honor student whose bloody arrest by Alcoholic Beverage Control sparked controversy in March, said he had no regrets.
Standing outside Charlottesville District Court, Johnson said he continues to see his arrest as unfair, but he offered a surprising take on the experience.
"I'm happy that it happened."
Johnson explained that he'd use the incident to battle injustice. One supporter, Enid Krieger, hopes ABC agents, who remain on administrative leave, will get a message.
"I think that they need to learn how to use their power."
The Commonwealth's Attorney says he'll lay out the results of a State Police investigation on Wednesday.
