Jay & Dave had a target of $3000 before they were allowed off the VMR Mastermyne Mackay Rescue 6, inside the Pioneer River at the Forgan Bridge (for Give Me 5 For Kids).
To spur on the donations, the producer of the show gave them a challenge: if everyone donated a total of $1000 within a half hour period, Jay & Dave would have to eat a sardine and drink milk (making a fish milkshake)...... warning for those with weak stomachs.....
