St Fagans National History Museum received a £250k Armed Forces Community Covenant grant to help keep the past alive for current and future generations. The aim of the five-year project is to increase awareness of the role of the armed forces within Welsh communities, past and present and to recognise the sacrifices faced by the armed forces community.

It is part of a £26.6 million redevelopment of Wales' most visited museum to reinterpret the armed forces collections for display in two new galleries, to generate new contemporary collections, and to develop an outreach programme with armed forces communities in Wales and young people.
