JD Wetherspoon not interested in re-opening King Canute but is looking at another Canvey Island site

A campaign by Canvey Islanders to get JD Wetherspoon to take over and re-open the historic King Canute pub has failed. Eddie Gershon from the chain says they're not interested in that site but are in another. Ian Mayhew and Richard Banister are the islanders who want the King Canute reopened
