Up to 160 Conservative MPs are reported to want the top rate of income slashed to 40p in the next Budget. Former cabinet minister Liam Fox is among the high profile party members to publicly call for the cut to The Telegraph newspaper. Would it kickstart the economy, or is it just a Tory push for a tax cut for the better off?
