July 12 | The latest edition of the Telegraph Cycling Podcast discusses a very close Tour de France team time trial in Brittany where BMC Racing pipped Team Sky by less than a second.

Chris Froome remains in yellow but Richard Moore, Lionel Birnie and Daniel Friebe discuss whether the big four ought now to be considered the big five as BMC’s Tejay Van Garderen has ridden himself into contention over the first week.

We hear from Alex Dowsett of the Movistar team, who was very disappointed with his own performance as his strength was compromised by the injuries he’s suffered in the first week. Dowsett’s team finished third, just four seconds behind and the British time trial champion believed they would have won the stage had he been 100 per cent fit.

Team Sky sports director Nicolas Portal reviews Sky’s team time trial performance, German sprinter Andre Greipel reflects on a successful first week which brought two stage wins and a run in the green jersey and Cannondale-Garmin’s Irish climber Daniel Martin, who won a mountain stage two years ago, looks ahead to the Pyrenees.
