Life as a Visual Storyteller—Episode 21—21st July, 2015: Creating Isn't a Choice, It's a Given

I don't want to blog today. Or draw a cartoon.

I don't want to create. Not at the moment.

That's not a choice I have, though. I already chose to blog, podcast and cartoon daily. Only under exceptional circumstances can I back out of that. Like an alien galactic empire annexing our fridge, for instance. Then I'll have other things on my mind. Not least because I keep beer in that fridge.

That's what life as a professional creative is like. Regardless of how we feel, we create. And the work must be done well.

That's the discipline. It makes us reliable.

It's one of the things we don't market enough.

We. Do. The. Work.

Always. And on time.

It sets us apart from the wannabees. It makes us 'professional'.

Own that—and its consequences.
