July 24 | This episode of the Telegraph Cycling Podcast comes from La Toussuire after an impressive stage victory by defending champion Vincenzo Nibali.

But it was controversial too, because the Italian was accused of launching his race-winning attack just as yellow jersey holder Chris Froome had a problem with his bike. A stone got caught between Froome's rear wheel and his brakes, forcing him to stop briefly to remove it.

Richard Moore, Lionel Birnie and Daniel Friebe discuss the rights and wrongs of 'attacking' the yellow jersey when he has a mechanical problem and also the unsavoury footage which appeared to show a spectator spitting at Froome.

There's also an interview with the South African Robbie Hunter, a sports director with the Cannondale-Garmin team now but a former team-mate of Froome's at the Barloworld team in 2008.

Plus there's an exclusive chat with Oleg Tinkov, owner of the Tinkoff-Saxo team about the future of cycling, and other things.
