Compromise agreement poses critical moment for warring parties

With just 20 days to the highly anticipated signing of the final peace agreement, to determine a return of peace to #South Sudan, the feelings of many remain mixed.

The United Nations and the international community - remain deeply involved in seeing the implementation of the Comprehensive Peace Agreement and the preparations for the formation of a transitional government.

As the countdown to this all-important day begins, the UN Special Envoy for Sudan and South Sudan Haile Merkorios, is urging both President Salva Kiir and Dr Riek Machar, leader of the SPLM/A in opposition to take a courageous decision to stop the fighting immediately and embark on the reconstruction and healing of South Sudan.
