DOBCROSS-based broadcasting legend Mike Sweeney has offered words of encouragement to local bands trying to make a name for themselves in the cut-throat music business. It is tough to get yourselves noticed these days with so much competition around - particularly in Oldham - but guitar/vocalist Sweeney - who has played in bands for 50 years ­ has urged our talented town musicians to stick to their guns.
