During the Cold War, listeners behind the Iron Curtain huddled around radios listening to the bass-baritone voice of the man who sent them American music. "Good evening, Willis Conover in Washington, D.C., with Music U.S.A.” a voice familiar to millions around the world but at home, this VOA broadcaster was unknown. Plans for a postage stamp honoring Conover is giving hope to those who think he deserves greater recognition.
