The US government would be forced to change its approach towards South Sudan if a deal is not reached by Monday, the US Ambassador to South Sudan, Catherine Molly Phee, has said. “Absolutely the United States is looking at how we might change our approach to South Sudan. That is not a decision we want to take, we would rather be working with you to implement peace and to support development of your country,” Ambassador Molly said. Speaking on Radio Miraya’s Morning Breakfast show, Ambassador Molly said it is crucial for the warring parties to take the opportunity provided by the compromise peace deal to sign a deal and end the senseless war in South Sudan. She noted that the war has become increasingly costly and the prospects of greater instability are very harmful to the people, the region and the US interests’ in South Sudan.
