Life as a Visual Storyteller—Episode 41—20th September, 2015: Do You Need Validation of Your Work? (Of Course You Do, but from Whom?)

The past couple of weeks have been a whirlwind of travel, photography, filming and food. It has been great. When that happens, my life as a visual creative seems to be just about perfect. These instances are rare, mind you, so don't think for a moment that my life is an endless succession of amazing assignments in aspirational locations. As if.

While in coversation with one of my clients, we touched upon the topic of appreciation and validation of creative work, and where this should come from. Is it enough that you, the creative, value your work and see it as worthwhile and meaningful? Or is it important that others, who have no connection with you, see it as valuable? Perhaps a bit of both?
