a Song That I Perhaps Ought to Take to Heart (See my Last Boo for Whys and Wherefores)

I thought of this song after I lost my temper today. It's from the Sherman Brothers musical version of Mary Poppins, which is miles better than the movie in my, well, not so humble opinion. :-) The premise is that Jane and Michael have had a fight over a toy, and when they go to bed that night, all the toys in their nursery come to life and grow to enormous size. The toys hold a trial and charge Jane and Michael with losing their tempers for no good reason. Of course, Mary Poppins appears in the end and saves them, but this is the song the toys sing about what a dreadful and costly mistake it can be to lose one's temper. Is it just me, or is this awfully reminiscent of Carl Orff? :-) #MaryPoppins #music #musicals #temper #ShermanBrothers
