The boyfriend of Morgan Freeman's granddaughter has pleaded not guilty to a second-degree murder charge in her New York stabbing death. Court documents released Tuesday after Lamar Davenport's court appearance in Manhattan also show he ranted about Jesus Christ and the devil to arresting police officers. Prosecutors say the 30-year-old Davenport was arrested standing over actress Edena (eh-DEE'-nah) Hines' body Aug. 16 on a Manhattan street. Court papers say Davenport told one arresting officer "Jesus Christ is king" and "repent for your sins." The Daily News reports she told a judge he was to undergo a psychiatric evaluation Thursday. Hines is the step-granddaughter of the Oscar-winning actor. Freeman has said through a publicist he thought of her as a granddaughter.
