Pagan: 'We will go to New York to advocate for a full implementation of the peace agreement"

The UN General Assembly gets underway next week.

Leaders have started gathering at the UN headquarters in New York for the annual meeting that brings together leaders from all UN member nations.

Vice President James Wani Igga is leading the South Sudan government delegation.

The UN General Assembly 70th session meeting is expected to have a sideline meeting on South Sudan and how to support implementation of the recently signed IGAD compromise peace agreement on the resolution of the conflict .

Opposition leader Riek Machar is expected to attend the meeting. Pagan Amum, leader of the Former Political Detainees also known as the G-10 will also be present.

Amum says their message at the meeting will be to push for the full implementation of the recently signed peace agreement.
