Welcome to episode 3 of the Rugby World Cup podcast, a Group of death special featuring reaction from Ben Youngs and Joe Launchbury of England, and Scott Baldwin and Luke Charteris from the Welsh camp. Journalists Paul Morgan and Rhys Turrell analyse that result and preview both Wales Fiji and England Australia – lose and England become the first rugby World Cup hosts in history to go out in the pool stages. Firstly though, England scrum-half Ben Youngs told us at at a noisy Twickenham mixed zone, that indiscipline was what cost his side victory over Wales. England lock Joe Launchbury also spoke to us, defending the widely debated decision t o not kick a late penalty, from which the hosts could have drawn level at 28-28. Welsh camp hooker Scott Baldwin gave us his reaction to their victory over England, whilst looking ahead to the match against Fiji in Cardiff. Welsh lock Luke Charteris told me that the home crowd would be huge in negating a quick turnaround for the Fiji match on Thursday, before dismissing the potential for complacency in the group. Despite being a man from West Wales, communications director for Premiership rugby and former editor of Rugby World Cup Paul Morgan began by telling us that the England-Wales match left him with mixed emotions. Looking ahead to England vs Australia, online sports writer for The Daily Star Rhys Turrell says this is the hosts chance to kick-start their tournament.
