A Guernseyman has returned from the National Onion Championships, with a fifth-placed vegetable.
Gareth Griffin didn't quite manage to defend his title in Harrogate, after winning last year's competition with a seventeen-pound whopper.
But, while this summer's rain meant he could only grow a thirteen pound five ounce onion, he wasn't far behind the winning specimen.
