03/11/2015 NON-FUNCTIONAL HEALTH FACILITY

Part of the measures by the Federal Government to check high rate of child and maternal mortality, include the rehabilitation of primary health centres and building new ones to cover more communities in the country, provision of free and low cost health services to pregnant women, as well as the donation of Safe Delivery kits popularly called Mama Kits tothem.

But investigations indicate that the country is still far in terms of delivering qualitative healthcare to pregnant women. One of the areas this gap is observed is Ibeshe Community in Amuwo Odofin Local Government Area, where husbands and neighbours allegedly assist women to deliver their babies , because there are no functional health facilities.
