Police attack on Delmas 2, #Haiti on Nov. 9, 2015

#Haiti: There was a massive pro-democracy demonstration for Lavalas on November 9, 2015 in the neighborhood of Delmas 2. Lavalas presidential candidate Maryse Narcisse was present when police attacked protesters with round after round of rubber bullets and tear gas. This radio report by Radio Timoun describes how the atmosphere changed after a pickup truck was stopped nearby transporting false election documents which were later turned over to attorneys for Lavalas. At one point, the attack by the police grew so intense people feared for the safety of Narcisse. She would later, in the same broadcast, take to the airwaves to condemn the violent and repressive behavior of the police against protesters claiming their democratic rights to fair elections.
