Waiting lists for first outpatient appointments have risen almost 50% in a year. The latest figures from the Department of Health yesterday showed the number of patients waiting nine weeks and 18 weeks for their appointment had also risen. Health Minister Simon Hamilton said he's confident that last week's funding announcement will kickstart getting waiting times back to an acceptable position.
