More financial pain is on the way for government departments here. All Stormont departments have been asked to prepare for budget cuts of either five or ten per cent next year. The repercussions for the department of culture could be stark. A report drawn up for the department's committee has highlighted the possible consequences. As well as the possibility of a museum shutting, officials say a ten per cent cut in the resource budget would see arts organisations and libraries closing, and jobs lost in sports organisations. But with cuts looming for all government departments where, and to what extent, should the axe fall?
