Vanessa interviewed Sr. John Dominic, O.P. about the Disciple of Christ - Education in Virtue program. The program, created from a Christian perspective, provides a curriculum to educate children and adults in how to live a virtuous life. It emphasizes Christian discipleship as indispensable and examines the quest for joy and happiness. They talked about why the program on virtues was created, why some virtues are not as well known these days and why are they important. Sr. John Dominic converted to Catholicism during her sophomore year and entered the Dominican Sisters of St. Cecilia in 1982. She and three other Sisters founded the Dominican Sisters of Mary, Mother of the Eucharist in Ann Arbor, Michigan and has been involved in Catholic education for over 25 years, as both a teacher and administrator. They also talked about how Sr. John Dominic was able to develop a well-rounded virtue program that could start with the younger students and grow developmentally with the students.
