My Narration of the Little Match Girl, by Hans Christian Andersen

The weather has turned so cold, at least in these parts, that I thought this would be an apt story to relate right now. Perhaps I should have saved it for New Year's Eve, but given the way this crazy climate of ours is acting (we're expecting rain and mild temperatures again in a couple of days), New Year's might be as warm as March! If you're wondering why I chose to narrate this fairy tale with an English accent, well, all I can say is that immitation is the sincerest form of flattery. When I was a little girl, I had this story on a cassette tape, and it was read by an English lady. I liked it so much - morbid ending notwithstanding - that it has stayed with me all these years. I therefore decided to narrate my own version in a similar vein. Besides, this is just one of those stories that needs a nice Oxford voice. :-P #Andersen #FairyTales #MyRecordings #stories
