South Sudanese must repent and start a new page as brothers and sisters who want to live in peace, urged Auxiliary Bishop of the Catholic Archdiocese of Juba, Santo Loku Pio. “We must repent and tell God we will never go back and become the cause of the suffering of a brother or a sister, comes 2016 and beyond,” Bishop Loku told the congregation at St. Joseph’s Parish in Juba during New Year’s Eve Mass.

“We have brothers and sisters in UN camps all over South Sudan; we have brothers and sisters who are refugees in neighboring countries – living in bushes, not at their homes. Who have done these [brought the sufferings]? It is us South Sudanese,” he said.

“You are ululating here and there are people in the UN camps, there are people in all the bushes of South Sudan, their houses are burnt, they are chased from their farms. Some have run to other countries, some are dead.”

“In this New Year, let us start a new page as brothers and sisters who want to live in peace with one another,” the Catholic Prelate advised.

He called on South Sudanese to be united and should embrace love, respect for one another. --- Ends--- #SouthSudan #Juba #RadioBakhita
