INTERVIEW: Torvill and Dean Variety Lunch

Jan 06, 2016, 04:00 PM

ICE dancing legends Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean are planning to skate back into UK cities - not to do the Bolero but to help sick, disabled and disadvantaged kids on to the ice, as they explained to me in this exclusive phone chat. The Olympic gold and four time world champions say a Variety lunch, celebrating their achievements and hosted by Eamonn Holmes at the Dorchester, Thu, Jan 7, 2016, will raise vital funds for them to host ice dancing sessions for children around the UK, including Sheffield - where they have performed many time on blades made of Sheffield steel. The charity helps support sick, disabled and disadvantaged children. For Variety lunch details see https://www.variety.org.uk/events/torvill-and-dean-tribute-lunch For more see The Star, Sheffield, http://www.thestar.co.uk and associated titles later this week. Date: Wed, Jan 6, 2016.
