Vanessa interviewed Reuben Grandon, Project Detroit director, for All Hands Volunteers about the work the organization is doing in the Detroit area. Reuben provided an overview of All Hands Volunteers, including who they are as well as past and current projects. They talked about what makes All Hands Volunteers different from other organizations that do disaster relief and the challenges they face as an organization. All Hands Volunteers is a non-profit organization that helps with both the immediate and long-term needs of areas that have been hit with natural disasters. They do this by engaging local volunteers, organizations and the community. Over the past 10 years, All Hands has impacted communities with over 28,000 volunteers from over 70 different countries on 50 disaster response and rebuild projects in 9 countries around the world. They also discussed how listeners can help and other projects they are currently involved in. For more information about All Hand Volunteers, log on to www.Hands.org
