Vanessa interviewed Jim Willis, vice president of Rehab services at JVS and the program manager for Pathways to Careers and Bill Hielscher, employer relations specialist for Pathways to Careers about the work that Pathways to Careers provides. They talked about what is JVS, who are the partners involved with Pathways to Careers and who are the participants that are involved. They also discussed what is Pathways for Careers, the groups goals and how it works. Pathways to Careers is a Federally funded initiative that is piloting some ground breaking things that will help people with intellectual and developmental disabilities develop careers. Jim and Bill also explained how businesses benefit from hosting an internship site, what happens if a business hires an intern as well as how the community and listeners can help Pathways to Careers.
