Parties to peace agreement remain divided over 28 states

The debate about the implementation of the peace agreement continues to center on the disagreement on the creation of the 28 states.

On Monday the Inter-Governmental Authority on Development which brokered the peace agreement urged the parties to the agreement to go ahead with the formation of the government of national unity despite remarks about the 28 states.

The IGAD communique rather called for the consideration of the issue through a boundary committee for a one month.

Back in Juba, different reactions have emerged regarding the IGAD Council of Ministers statement.
