A new study shows that deforestation in wetlands has led to 15% more rainfall and improves the nutrients in water. Fossil records support the concept that deforestation has helped increase the size of wetlands 9 to 12% throughout history. Therefore, conservationists should think twice about pushing reforestation in wetlands because it could cause them to die out.
