Northsound News has been speaking exclusively to Allan Ross, an Aberdeen man who says he suffered physical abuse at a number of children's homes in 70s - both in the North East and in the Dumfries area.

Allan says the worst abuse happened at an assessment centre he was sent to in Aberdeen when he was just eight years old.

He says his life was ruined by what happened - he can't read or write, and turned to drugs and crime after he was released.

He's told Northsound News he wants those who mistreated him face justice,

We've put Alan in touch with the people behind the independent inquiry into abuse of children in care in Scotland.
