The Joint Monitoring and Evaluation Commission or #JMEC says it does not recognize President #Salva_Kiir’s created 28 states.

JMEC Military Security Advisor, Bill Harmon, says “the Commission recognizes the ten states stipulated in the Agreement on the Resolution of Conflict in South Sudan”.

“The position of #IGAD and communiqué issued on 31st Jan 2016 is the position of JMEC and there should never be any further move on the 28 states” Bill added.

The IGAD roadmap on suspension of the implementation of 28 states should be adhered to, says Rajab Mohandis, representative of Voluntary Civil Society Taskforce on peace achievement.

Late last year, President #Kiir created 28 states and appointed governors contrary to the provisions of the peace deal which raised discussions and critics from the elites and other stakeholders to the implementation of the peace deal signed in August 2015. #Radio_Bakhita
