Hear the Chair of the All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) on Ageing and Elderly People Nus Ghani MP talk about the newly launched Sussex Elders' Commission report launched at Parliament today (8 March) that revealed serious concerns over cybercrime and financial coercian against older people. Thirty members of the Sussex Elders’ Commission (SEC) voiced their concerns and recommendations to the chair of the All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) on Ageing and Elderly People. The SEC was formed in February 2015 by Sussex Police & Crime Commissioner (PCC) Katy Bourne. Building on the successful model of the Youth Commission, the SEC has provided an opportunity for older residents to support, challenge and inform the commissioners' work and local policing priorities. The members, aged 60 to 85, have had over 2,000 conversations about policing, crime and community safety with their peers. Nuisance calls and scams, local policing and road safety topped the list of worries ahead of anti-social behaviour, cyber-crime, and fear of crime, isolation and financial coercion. #elders
