Terekeka launches New Maternity Ward in remote Rijong Payam

Giving birth in South Sudan is often dangerous and difficult. Medical care can be long distances away, forcing pregnant women to give birth at home or to travel long distance on foot in order to access a health facility.

But residents of Rijong Payam in the newly created Terekeka State on Wednesday welcomed the start of the first-ever maternity ward in the area.
