Gunman in Custody After Shots Fired at U.S. Capitol

Authorities took a gunman into custody Monday after he fired shots at the U.S. Capitol Visitors Center in Washington, D.C., prompting lockdowns at the White House and Congress.

Initial reports said a U.S. Capitol police officer was injured in the shooting, but those later turned out to be false.
