Iceland's Agriculture Head Will Seek Prime Minister Spot

(REYKJAVIK,) — Iceland's fisheries and agriculture minister Sigurdur Ingi Johannsson says he will seek the president's approval to become the country's next prime minister.

Johannsson said Wednesday the governing coalition remains intact despite the resignation of his predecessor following revelations he had offshore accounts.

Opposition leaders are opposed to the move and may pursue no confidence vote.
