Kate may have opted for one of her favourite British designers for tonight's glittering Bollywood gala in Mumbai.

But her stunning Jenny Packham gown was especially hand-embroidered in India to give it a truly authentic Indian appeal.

The Duchess of Cambridge stood out in the intricate cobalt blue full-length dress, which featured a floral embroidery on the bodice.

She teamed the gown with a matching sheer beaded cape and co-ordinating clutch.

The real focus of her look, however, were her stunning matching earrings by Indian jewellery house Amrapali .

Kate's outfit was a triumph thanks to the beautiful cobalt blue colour choice.

Her husband, meanwhile, looked dapper in a dinner jacket and bow tie.

The beaming royal couple were clearly having a good time at the Taj Palace hotel, with Kate seen looked incredibly relaxed as she chatted with guests.

So far, the Duchess has cleverly managed to blend together her favourite British designers with traditional Indian touches.

Jenny Packham is renowned for her intricate detailing, but Kate's decision to have her gown hand-beaded in India gave it an authentic feel.

It will also have pleased the royal couple's hosts.

Earlier in the day, Kate was seen wearing an Alexander McQueen dress in an Indian-inspired paisley print.

And later in the day, she played cricket in a dress by Mumbai designer Anita Dongre.

We will have to wait until tomorrow to see what day two has in store.
