Row over bid to re-open Troubles case involving IRA man's death

The Attorney General has asked the Public Prosecution Service, to review a decision not to prosecute police officers, following the shooting of an IRA man in 1991. The RUC had been waiting when the IRA attempted to launch a mortar attack against the security services in Downpatrick. Officers opened fire and Colum Marks - one of the IRA men was hit. He later died. Unionists have reacted with anger and say victims will see the move as evidence of "a two tier" approach to investigating the Troubles.
