PSA Today: Reno Initiative for Shelter and Equality

In this episode of PSA Today, we sit down with the President of RISE (Reno Initiative for Shelter and Equality) Katie Colling.

We discuss the history of RISE, and how their organization has changed and grown in their short history. Katie also shares her thoughts on some of the causes and biases against homelessness in our community, and how we can work to go more “up stream” to solve some of these problems.

The RISE team is down at the family shelter on Record Street in Reno every Saturday of the month (except the second Saturday) at 5pm. Ways to get involved include: donating time, donating food, donating money, donating items for the Free Store, and donating resources (like tables).
