The arrival of first Vice President-designate Riek Machar has been delayed again, after the U.S. government withdrew support to facilitate his travel.
Machar was due to fly in today after the government cleared two chartered planes with 195 accompanying forces, along with 20 RPG rocket launchers and 20 PKM machine guns.
The US government however released a statement on Sunday saying they were withdrawing their support following repeated delays despite consistent facilitation for the flights.
William Ezekiel spokesperson of the SPLM-IO advance team confirms this development and says they are working on arrangements to get Machar in Juba tomorrow – Tuesday.
