The arrival of 1st Vice President designate Riek Machar was delayed yet again. This was after the US government said it would no longer pay for the flights chartered to fly him to Juba, after 3 failed attempts to get the SPLM-IO chairman to the national capital.
The United States has blamed the South Sudan government for the latest hold-up in efforts, saying the government denied landing permission for the flights.
The President’s spokesperson Ateny Wek Ateny says ‘no’ the government is not to blame for the delay.
