South Sudan commemorates SPLA Day
South Sudan commemorated the SPLA Day marked annually on May 16th in remembrance of a group of Sudanese soldiers who mutinied in 1983 in Bor - Jonglei sparking off more than two decades of civil war which culminated into the independence of South Sudan.
This day - the 33rd Anniversary is set aside to honor all fallen combatants and non-combatants who contributed to the liberation of southern Sudan.
