Farnham mark world's first ever two minutes silence

Back in May 1916 the town of Farnham in Surrey held the world’s first ever two minute silence. 100 years on, the community came together to mark the historic occasion with an event called Time to Remember. The morning started with a procession along Castle Street which was led by the Princess of Wales Royal Regiment Band and the Farnham Sea Cadet Marching Band BFBS’s Natasha Reneaux was at the ceremony and spoke to Gavin Stride, Director of the Farnham Maltings and Time to Remember who explained how the idea of two minutes silence first came about.
