A large-scale search and rescue operation is resuming Friday more than 24 hours after EgyptAir Flight 804 went missing from radar screens in the early hours Thursday.
The flight — which was carrying 66 passengers and crew and was en route from Paris to Cairo — is believed to have crashed into the Mediterranean sea somewhere between Greece and the Egyptian coastline. However, no wreckage from the plane has yet been discovered and the cause of the disaster remains unknown.
