Navy Investigating 'American Sniper' Chris Kyle's Medals

The Navy is investigating a possible discrepancy in the number of medals Navy SEAL Chris Kyle claimed to have been awarded for his service.

Kyle—who wrote "American Sniper," a bestselling autobiography that was made into a 2015 movie—said in the book that he received two Silver Stars and five Bronze Stars, but a report published Wednesday by the Intercept suggests those claims were erroneous, citing Navy documents that say Kyle earned one Silver Star and three Bronze Stars.
