2 Navy Fighter Jets Collide Off North Carolina

(RALEIGH, N.C.) — Navy spokesman Ensign Mark Rockwellpate says two Navy F/A-18 Super Hornet jet fighters were on a routine training mission when they collided about 10:40 a.m. Thursday off Cape Hatteras, North Carolina.

Rockwellpate says four crew members were taken to the hospital in Norfolk, but he didn't have information about the extent of their injuries.

He says a safety investigation will be carried out to determine what happened.
