Zoo defends shooting gorilla dead to rescue child #bbcnolan

The director of a US zoo has defended the decision to shoot dead a gorilla after a small boy fell into its enclosure on Saturday. The 4 year old had climbed through a barrier and fallen about 3m (10ft) into the moat. Video shows the boy being dragged through the shallow moat.
