After days of blistering press coverage and hours after Republicans declared his comments about a federal judge “racist,” a cowed Donald Trump tried to prove he could be a trusted candidate who could potentially win.

Trump took to the lectern with his family in his opulent Trump National Golf Club Westchester with family as Queen's anthem "We Are the Champions" blared from the speakers. But the candidate was notably chastened.
